Roller Coaster or Merry Go Round?

What do you prefer to ride in life?
If it’s the rollercoaster there are highs, lows, thrills and chills and sometimes spills but at least it’s something.
Merry Go Rounds are pretty and quite whimsical but they are also steady, never-changing and ever so safe.
Now and then I wonder if safe is the way to go.  I have had my share of sadness, hurt and disappointment.  Truth be told the thought of experiencing those things again makes me physically cringe.
But I wonder what is the “cost” of being safe?
Is the price too high?

  1. I don’t think I’d want a life of just roller coasters or just merry-go-rounds. So, I’m wondering why you can’t have it all? Have the entire carnival… the safety of the merry-go-round with the highs/lows/thrills/chills of the roller coaster when you want some excitement. And the popcorn and cotton candy machine when you just want to sit back, enjoy some treats and watch for a while… 😉

    You *can* have it all…

  2. No guts, no glory. The greater the risk, the greater the return. If you always do what you’ve always done you will always get what you’ve always gotten.

I could go on…but, what would be the point?

Cliches and idioms aside: Only you know what works for you and you will do what you want regardless of how anyone else feels about it.

    That is true for everyone.
